The Radioactivity of Bananas

People are scared of radiation and nuclear energy because we have all been conditioned to think that getting exposed to radiation will cause mutations in our bodies. But did you know that even the food that we eat has radiation in them?

Bananas are actually considered one of the most radioactive foods. There's even a unit of measurement called the "Banana Equivalent Dose", which measures ionizing radiation exposure.

Despite this, experts say there's nothing to worry about as we are exposed to radiation every day, and the amount of radiation found in bananas is much too low for it to cause any damage. Moreover, since our bodies contain potassium naturally, which it maintains at a constant level.

The only risk that eating bananas poses would be if we were to eat at least a thousand bananas in one sitting. I don't think anybody has the capacity to do that.
